Have you ever had to restart your Mac and you (or someone else) has been annoyed by the startup chime? If so, download it for free and give it a try. It's able to silent the chime and then restore the volume back to normal after it starts up.
The only exception is if headphones are plugged in, and in that case macOS doesn't allow Silent Start access to the internal speakers. However, it will show a helpful dialog right before restart/shutdown to give you a chance to unplug them so it can mute the startup chime.
It's completely free with no registration required, and fully compatible with macOS 10.14 Mojave, including the system Dark Mode.

Relax and enjoy a silent startup, whether you're at home, in a library, a coffee shop or somewhere where you'd like it to be quiet.

The previous volume is automatically restored after startup.

You can manually turn on Silent Mode for a specified duration before you perform any important task on your computer. You can turn on Silent Mode for the allowable duration. The Norton product icon displays the turn-on status of Silent Mode in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar. Your Norton product notifies you after Silent Mode is turned off. After Silent Mode is turned off, your Norton product also displays alerts if it detected any security activities that occurred during the Silent Mode session.

You can turn on or turn off Silent Mode from the Administrative Settings window or Quick Controls in the Settings window. You can also turn on or turn off Silent Mode by using the Norton product icon in the notification area.

Turn on or turn off Silent Mode from the Administrative Settings window

Start Norton.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.
In the Norton product main window, click Settings.
In the Settings window, click Administrative Settings.
Under Silent Mode Settings, in the Silent Mode row, move the On/Off switch to On or Off.
If you turn Silent Mode on, do the following:
In the Turn on Silent Mode dialog box, in the Select the duration drop-down list, select how long you want to turn on Silent Mode.
In the Settings window, click Apply.
Click OK.

Turn on or turn off Silent Mode from the notification area

Windows 7 ultimate 32 64 bit full version iso. In the notification area on the Windows taskbar, right-click the Norton product icon, do one of the following:
- To turn on Silent Mode, click Turn on Silent Mode, and in the Select the duration drop-down list, select how long you want to turn on Silent Mode.
- To turn off Silent Mode, click Turn off Silent Mode.
Click OK.

In the Settings window, under Quick Controls, do one of the following:
- To turn off Silent Mode, uncheck Silent Mode.
- To turn on Silent Mode, check Silent Mode, and select the duration for which you want Silent Mode to be turned on from the Turn on Silent Mode dialog box, and click OK.
