Update: NZBFriends has been down since July 30, 2020 so we are currently calling NZBFriends a dead Usenet Search Engine

NZBin

NZBFriends bills itself as a USENET search engine with a unique algorithm. The site does have a very nice search engine with some advanced features that USENET fans may be very appreciative of. Clicking on the link for more search options allows you to sort your results by different criteria, sort your results by the age of the posts, look for particular material in the subject of the file name and more. It also allows you to specify the size of the file you are looking for, which can be a very handy feature.

Features

Nzbindex Down

NZBFriends offers 1,200 days of newsgroup retention, but it seems like the less popular newsgroups have been more or less abandoned by the site. The popular groups, however, are updated regularly and that may be enough for most users.

Currently, the site has over 7,288,125 NZB files from more than 2,000 groups available. This, without a doubt, is an impressive figure and certainly makes the site worth taking a look at. It ’s comprehensive enough to keep most users happy.

Technical Details

Pokemon season 1 episode 1 in hindi hungama. NZBFriends has 5PB of data indexed, a huge figure. The site allows you to search by numerous different criteria, including the age, the author and the size of the binary that you ’re interested in.

Differences from Other Sites

One of the primary differences between NZBFriends and many other USENET search sites is the fact that NZBFriends does not have a community. This can be good and bad. The community sites, obviously, give you a place to discuss issues with the service, particular binaries or other subjects with other users. Of course, not having a community attached to the search engine does eliminate the possibility that internal, political conflicts are going to end up costing users yet another good USENET search site.

The primary difference between NZBFriends and other USENET search sites, however, really comes down to the search engine itself. It ’s similar to some of the advanced search engines you ’ll find on newsreaders. If you need an alternative to your own USENET service ’s search feature for some reason, this may make it a more viable option than some of the more primitive search sites.

Worth a Try

NZBFriends is definitely worth taking a look at. The search engine alone should make it interesting for USENET users who are accustomed to very primitive search engines that force them to sort through a lot of irrelevant results for NZB files. At the same time, individuals looking for a community and for a search engine that consistently updates the less popular groups on the USENET system may not be satisfied with what NZBFriends has to offer. In any regard, the many search options are really a nice touch collectively.
